Miso Tasty Organic Red Miso Paste, 200g

Red miso is a fermented bean paste with a rich, tangy flavour. It’s an essential ingredient in Japanese cuisine where it adds salty depth to marinades, fish dishes and warming miso soup. Try mixing a spoonful of miso with soy sauce and honey to glaze aubergine or chicken thighs before grilling. 

With its strong umami flavour, red miso is a good match for dark meats like beef, duck and lamb. It enhances the flavour of slow-cooked stews, onion gravies and even bolognese sauce. A little goes a long way – add a little at a time until you have reached the desired flavour.

For a quick and tasty supper, whisk red miso paste with a little water and add it to a wok with stir-fried garlic, ginger and spring onions. Add cooked noodles and vegetables and top with a fried egg. Toasted sesame seeds and a dash of chilli oil make a great garnish.
